During the peak of COVID-19, millions of teachers stepped out of their comfort zones and embraced the use of technology to connect and engage with their students. But not all teachers were on board with the technology demands placed on them, nor did they always have the proper support to develop innovative instruction.

As we look ahead, how can educators effectively harness technology to benefit student learning? How can system leaders better support educators on this front? And what role does the principal play in the use of technology in schools?

Brown is the director of technology services for the Ladue school district in Missouri, and a current member of the International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE) Board of Directors. As a 21-year veteran educator, she helps break down traditional classroom walls by creating a culture that fosters creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. She is passionate about closing the digital equity divide through access and opportunity and sharing practical techniques to create meaningful technology interactions and global connections.
